What's New for the 2022 GMC Terrain?

For the 2022 model year, the GMC Terrain gets a well-rounded list of updates that include changes to its interior, exterior, and technology. The 2022 Terrain, scheduled to arrive in the summer of 2021, is updated on the outside with a refreshed exterior design. It also gets some updates to its technology features. A new trim level also joins this year's lineup called the AT4. The AT4 brings its distinctive style to the lineup, and it also offers the most off-road capabilities of the bunch. More safety aids are now offered in the GMC Terrain as standard and available features based on your preferred trim level.

2022 Terrain Trims & Features

The 2022 Terrain lineup begins with the SLE. This trim level is configured with bold new LED headlights. It also gets LED taillights that have signature C-shaped lighting elements. A traction select system is now standard to help you drive confidently in a wide range of conditions. The cabin is updated with more technology this year, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The base SLE trim has cloth seats, and the seats in the back row fold flat to create more storage capacity. The SLT, which is the next trim in the lineup, has plush perforated front seats that are upgraded to leather upholstery. The seats are also heated beginning with this trim level, and the steering wheel is cushioned with leather. A programmable, hands-free liftgate is standard, and the liftgate is decorated with LED lights. A head-up display is available for the infotainment system. The Elevation trim level gets a dark front grille and larger 19-inch wheels. It has a blacked-out exterior with black mirror caps, exterior badges, roof rails, and wheels. The Denali has wireless charging capabilities, heated seats and available ventilated seats in the front, aluminum wheels, and a standard head-up display. This year, the AT4 has sporty tires, hill descent control, and a steel skid plate.

2022 GMC Terrain Horsepower

The 2022 GMC Terrain has a standard gasoline engine that produces 170 HP in power. The turbo engine comes with an automatic transmission that has nine speeds. You can also upgrade to a more powerful engine capable of 252 HP. The GMC Terrain has front-wheel drive.

GMC Terrain Safety

The 2022 Terrain has forward collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, a following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and a pedestrian detection system. Lane-keep assist and lane departure warning round out the Terrain's list of safety aids.
