The classic GMC Sierra pickup truck has seen some changes coming into the 2018 model year. On the interior of the truck, GMC has added a premium 6-speaker audio system as a standard feature for trim packages available in the Sierra. The Infotainment System with a 7-inch display screen was also added to all base models of the truck. As well, a rearview camera was added as a standard feature on all models the Sierra produces in 2018. On the exterior, GMC added two new colors to their lineup in deep mahogany metallic and red quartz tintcoat. A tire fill alert monitor was added to the tire monitoring system that has been standard on the pickups. Finally, the Sierra is featuring the new performance front brake kit with duralife rotors that limit corrosion on the rotors and make for quieter and smoother braking in the truck.

The new Sierra trucks come available in many trim packages to consumers. The 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 comes in the base Sierra, SLE, SLT and Denali trim packages. The Sierra HD trim packages in 2500HD and 3500HD come in the same base Sierra, SLE, SLT and Denali trim packages as well. The new Sierra trucks are also offered in a few custom trim packages. The Sierra All Terrain pickup features 18" wheels with all-terrain tires and an underbody shield that are perfect for drivers that prefer to take their trucks off the beaten path of paved roads. Drivers that want to step it up from that package can opt for the All Terrain X package that includes 18" mud-terrain tires and a black sport bar on the bed of the truck. Finally, the Sierra Elevation edition shows a mean look on the road with 20" aluminum wheels and a custom painted grill and bumpers to match the truck all the way around the frame. The 2018 Sierra includes some great features like USB ports, 12-volt charging outlets, trailering camera system, trailer sway control, trailer brake control with the push of a button, cargo box lighting, cornerstep rear bumper, 4G wifi hotspot and an 8" GMC Infotainment System on the dash.

The HD trim packages come available in the Vortec 6.0-liter V8 or the famed 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engines. The horsepower and torque of each of the motors do differ in the 2018 Sierra trucks. The 4.3-liter V6 puts out 285 horsepower and 305 foot-pounds of torque. The 5.3-liter V8 rages at 355 horsepower and 383 foot-pounds of torque. The larger 6.2-liter V8 kicks out 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque. In the HD motors, the Vortec 6.0-liter V8 runs at 360 horsepower and 380 foot-pounds of torque while the big boss Duramax V8 diesel cranks out 445 horsepower with a whopping 910 foot-pounds of torque.

The GMC Sierra features a forward collision alert system that puts out audio and visual signals to the driver if the truck senses a collision coming. Lane departure warning and lane keep assistance read lane markings on the road and assist the vehicle back into the lane automatically. A rear vision camera and front/rear parking assist systems help the driver operate the vehicle in tight spaces. The trucks also feature GMC's IntelliBeam technology that can switch between high and low beams on the headlights automatically by sensing surrounding traffic around the truck.
