Specs at a Glance

If you need an adventurous pickup truck that's more than capable of towing a load, look no further than the 2026 GMC Canyon. Not only does this midsize pickup offer class-leading performance, but it also delivers a comfortable drive. When shopping for a new Canyon, some drivers will be choosing between the Elevation and AT4X trim levels. Here's a rundown of how these two Canyon trims stack up against each other.

Performance

Whether you choose the Canyon Elevation or the Canyon AT4X, you'll have more than enough muscle under the hood. Both trims feature a strong TurboMax four-cylinder engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Power is fed to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Equipped with a 2.0-inch factory suspension lift for enhanced ground clearance and all-terrain tires, the Canyon Elevation is more than capable of handling the rugged backcountry. While rear-wheel drive comes standard, four-wheel drive is an option. Chevy engineers the AT4X trim to be an even more skilled off-road machine. Just a few of its upgrades include a 3.0-inch factory lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and front/rear electronic locking differentials. Four-wheel drive also comes standard on the Canyon AT4X.

Appearance

The Canyon Elevation certainly has a rugged persona. A bold front fascia with signature daytime running lamps and a wide stance give it an assertive appearance. Chevy further enhances the pickup's curb appeal with a stylish set of 18-inch black aluminum wheels. There are multiple exterior color options available, including Rapids Metallic and Sterling Metallic.

The AT4X trim has an especially tough-nosed appearance. It features a beefy front skid plate with red tow hooks. Unique 18-inch wheels further distinguish the Canyon AT4X. Exclusive paint colors, such as Desert Sun, are also available.

Features

Most drivers will be perfectly satisfied with the entry-level Elevation trim's list of standard equipment. Some of its notable features include an 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto® smartphone integration, an Off-Road Performance Display, an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster, and a ProGrade Trailering System.

The ultra-rugged AT4X trim comes equipped with some premium upgrades. While music fans can enjoy the Bose premium audio system, a sunroof gives you a direct connection to the outside world. An exclusive Obsidian Rush interior theme with Ceramic White accents helps the cabin to stand out.
