2024 GMC Terrain SLE vs 2024 GMC Terrain Denali

The 2024 GMC Terrain's position as a smaller SUV makes it unique in the performance-oriented GMC lineup. Not only does it offer incredible bursts of power, but it does so with great agility. Larger SUVs are still very easy to handle these days, but there's nothing quite like taking off in a small SUV and having the right mechanical design behind every driving maneuver you make. Both the SLE and Denali Terrain trims will find a large audience with our customers. That's why we're comparing these two important trims today.

Performance

All GMC Terrain trims get a 175-horsepower 1.5L turbocharged engine that generates 203 lb-ft of torque on takeoff. Both the SLE and Denali trims have a 9-speed automatic transmission that responds rapidly to changing acceleration or deceleration. It's also a transmission that's easy on the old ears and doesn't contribute to a lot of cabin noise. Still, the performance of the Denali will be different from the SLE because of the Denali's standard automatic emergency braking, premium suspension system, and all-wheel drive.

Appearance

The Denali trim is known as one of the most premium trims in its class, but the SLE is no slouch on style. It comes with standard 17" silver-painted aluminum wheels, C-shaped LED signature lighting, and deep-tinted rear glass. A Denali will have different and often exclusive exterior features, such as a hands-free power programmable liftgate, heated power mirrors, and body-color lower trim.

Features

If there's any area where the SLE and Denali take very different detours, it's on the interior design. A Denali picks up additional interior equipment like a 110-volt power outlet, an 8" GMC Infotainment System with full navigation capability, and a Bose premium sound system. If you want perforated leather-appointed seats, the Denali also adds this option. An SLE will offer available premium cloth or cloth seating. Driver-assist features and tech also vary widely on the SLE and Denali. A 2024 GMC Terrain Denali trim adds standard wireless device charging, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert.
