What's New for the 2025 Buick Encore GX?

After receiving a significant refresh last year, the Encore GX returns for the 2025 model year with a few key updates. Buick has tweaked the SUV's base engine to run on E85 fuel. The Encore also offers a new Aquamarine Blue Metallic exterior color and bright chrome lug nuts. Furthermore, remote start is now standard throughout the lineup.

What Are the 2025 Encore GX Trims & Features?

The Encore GX is available in three trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir. Even the entry-level Preferred trim is luxurious. Its infotainment system features an 11.0-inch HD touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Cloth/leatherette seating surfaces give the cabin a premium touch. Other standard equipment includes LED headlamps, keyless entry, and an 8.0-inch digital driver information display.

The Sport trim is geared towards drivers who desire a more aggressive look. An exclusive set of 18-inch gloss-black wheels and black exterior accents help set it apart. On the inside, a flat-bottom steering wheel adds to this trim's sporty character.

Atop the Encore GX range sits the Avenir trim. It features leather seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. While a Comfort package is optional on the lower trim levels, this upgrade comes standard on the Encore GX Avenir. Some of the contents include a power driver's seat, heated front seats, and a flat-folding seat for the front passenger. Perforated leather upholstery also distinguishes the Avenir trim. An optional Convenience package adds more niceties, including a Bose premium sound system and a hands-free power liftgate.

The 2025 Buick Encore GX gives you two powertrains to choose from. A 1.2-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder engine comes standard. It's rated to develop a competitive 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. A stronger 1.3-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder engine is found on the higher trim levels. Buick tunes it to produce 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. While front-wheel drive versions of the SUV use a continuously variable transmission, AWD-equipped models feature a nine-speed automatic transmission.
