There
are two types of engines that power the Envision. The base trim has a
2.5L, four-cylinder engine that produces 197HP and 192 LB-FT of torque.
It comes in front-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are
both options in the Preferred and Essence models, which are built with
the same engine. The Premium trims have a 2.0L turbo engine that
generates 252HP and 260 LB-FT of torque. All-wheel drive is standard in
these trims, and they have a six-speed automatic transmission.

What's New for the 2018 Buick Envision?
The
2018 Buick Envision is a compact, mid-size SUV. It is Buick's signature
luxury crossover SUV, and this year's model remains virtually unchanged
from the 2017 edition. This Buick has room for five passengers. It is
made with two types of engines, which are a 2.5L, four-cylinder engine
and a 2.0L turbocharged engine. The transmission on all trim levels is a
six-speed automatic. The Envision is produced in five trim levels.
Across the board, it gets top marks for safety and is praised for its
smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride.
Key Features and Amenities
The
base model, which is simply called the Envision, is loaded with a number
of standard luxury features. The Envision's exterior is a beautiful,
sophisticated design that is accentuated by 18-inch alloy wheels. It's
easy to see and be seen in the Envision with fog lights and LED-accented
tail lights. The Envision has heated mirrors that dim automatically,
and it has a remotely operated power liftgate. Inside, a keyless
ignition system facilitates driving. Passengers ride in comfort
year-round with heated front seats and a dual-zone climate control
system. The back row of seats also splits and folds down to increase
cargo capacity. Even the base Envision is equipped with a generous tech
package of Bluetooth, a backup camera, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay,
smartphone connectivity, a six-speaker sound system, an eight-inch
touchscreen, and four USB ports. The car's OnStar system comes with
internet access for convenient connection anywhere. The second-highest
trim is the Preferred. This trim is essentially identical to the base
model in terms of appearance and standard amenities. It can be
personalized with additional features, however, such as 19-inch silver
wheels and a panoramic moonroof. The third highest trim is the Essence.
This model builds on its predecessors' offerings with a heated steering
wheel, heated rear seats, and a three-zone climate control. A more
extensive base safety package includes blind spot monitoring and rear
cross-traffic detection. Premium leather seats are standard on the
Essence. The next highest trim is the Premium, which raises the bar with
standard 19-inch silver wheels. The audio system in the Premium is
upgraded to seven speakers, and it's designed by Bose. The infotainment
screen is larger on this trim, and it has a 110V outlet for charging
devices and appliances. Additional safety components on the Premium are
lane departure warning, collision avoidance, and forward collision
warning. Finally, the Premium II defines luxury and convenience with
automatic high beams, a sophisticated navigation system, ventilated
front seats, and a head-up display. As with the other trims, a roof
rack, cargo cover, and panoramic sunroof are possible additions on the
Premium trims.

Mechanical Specs
Advanced Safety Gear
Safety
is first in the Buick Envision, which has received a five-star overall
safety rating. When equipped with the Driver Confidence package, the car
also becomes an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Standard features on all trims
include front and side airbags for all passengers and a backup camera on
the rearview mirror. The advanced safety package adds a forward
collision avoidance system, adaptive cruise control, a sophisticated
camera system for parking, and automatic braking. Also optional is the
Safety Alert Seat, which pulses on the sides to alert drivers of
potential hazards in the corresponding direction. The seat's pulses are
also designed to make drivers more alert and aware of their
surroundings. A panoramic 360-degree camera is also optional.
