GMC's CrabWalk™ feature, available on the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 and the 2024 HUMMER EV Pickup Truck and SUV, offers a groundbreaking driving mode that allows vehicles to move diagonally at low speeds. This feature, part of the 4-Wheel Steer system, enhances maneuverability by enabling the rear wheels to turn at the same angle as the front wheels, up to 10 degrees. CrabWalk™ is designed to help drivers navigate tight spaces, awkward parking spots, and avoid obstacles on narrow trails, making it easier to pursue driving adventures on various terrains.
Activating CrabWalk™ is straightforward. For the GMC HUMMER EV, bring the vehicle to a stop or crawl speed (up to 1.2 mph), center the steering wheel, and press the 4-Wheel Steer button for four seconds. On the GMC Sierra EV, open the Controls app on the infotainment screen, tap Rear Steering, then select CrabWalk. This innovative feature empowers drivers with enhanced flexibility, allowing them to maneuver confidently in unique situations.
