2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 vs 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X

With the GMC Sierra 1500, you need not look further for a work-ready light-duty pickup truck. This truck has a lot of high-tech intelligence, rugged 4x4 systems, and a suite of strong powertrains (including an amazing diesel V8 engine). If you want to quickly off-road and power through work projects, the GMC Sierra 1500 has the trim lineup for you. Both the AT4 and AT4X are prepped for off-road greatness.

Performance

The AT4 and AT4X are equipped with a standard 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine rated at 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. If you love diesel performance, you'll love both of these models. However, their courses deviate a bit when it comes to off-road equipment and stability. For example, the AT4X adds a driver-selectable full-locking front and rear differential, something that's not available on the AT4. AT4X trims will also add an off-road suspension system with a 2" factory-installed lift and multimatic DSSV dampers. These two features alone will give the AT4X a boost in off-road handling.

Appearance

All 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 trucks have a handsome and aggressive appearance. AT4X trims boast 18" painted aluminum wheels with dark-painted pockets and 18" mud-terrain Goodyear Wrangler Territory blackwall tires, in contrast to the 18" machined aluminum wheels with dark accents that come standard on the AT4 trim. You can dress up the AT4X in exclusive exterior accents, such as Black Decorative rings for beadlock-capable wheels or an AEV stamped-steel high approach front bumper. Neither option is available for the Sierra 1500 AT4.

Features

The truck cabin is where all drivers get their hard work done. Everything begins there. The AT4 and AT4X have striking interior designs and plenty of tech. For example, the AT4 comes with a 12.3-inch color driver information system and a 10-way power driver seat (also standard on the AT4X). Additional features are added standard to the AT4X, including a standard head-up display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a rear camera mirror.
