The Hummer turned heads when it first hit the market, and now it's back as an electric vehicle. The Hummer EV is available as a pickup or SUV, and both have exceptional features. In partnership with GM Defense, GMC recently allowed U.S. military veterans to try out the Hummer EV at a special event.
About The Hummer EV
The Hummer EV is a standout vehicle from GMC. It is a large pickup truck with exceptional off-road handling capabilities. The Hummer EV first hit the streets in 2022, and it stands out among electric cars for its impressive range, which is just under 400 miles on a full charge. The Hummer EV is also lightning fast; you'll get many standard safety and technology aids with this car.
The Hummer EV SUV is equally charismatic. It excels in off-road driving and moves quickly for a vehicle of its size. Like the pickup, the EV SUV comes loaded with safety and technology features and has an estimated range of over 300 miles.
Veterans Take the Hummer EV for a Spin
A lucky group of over 30 veterans recently had an exclusive opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Hummer EV pickup or Hummer EV SUV at a special event. The event welcomed a nonprofit group called Warrior Rising, which helps U.S. military veterans with economic assistance, mentorship, and partnerships. Both members and leaders of Warrior Rising convened at the Milford Proving Grounds to test out the Hummer EV on paved roads and on off-road sections.
Along with experiencing the power and amenities that both GMC Hummer vehicles have, the veterans also got to check out some exclusive features like the Hummer's Watts to Freedom driving mode, which gives both vehicles a blistering acceleration speed of 0-60 MPH in three seconds. The impressive launch speed also comes with an available boost of 1,000 horsepower. The veterans also had a chance to explore several packages available for the Hummer EV pickup and SUV, including the Extreme Off-Road package that includes reinforced skid plates, beadlock-capable wheels, underbody cameras, rocker protectors, and larger 35-inch mud tires.
