GMC has decided to change and update their current truck and SUV lineup for the 2020 model year. Some features are subtle, like bolder exterior styling. More advanced technologies are being added into the mix, and the first edition of the AT4 Acadia is going to be released. It’s going to take approximately two full model years for everything to be incorporated.
SUV Changes
The small SUV models that are part of the GMC lineup will undergo changes that include:
- The addition of automatic emergency braking.
- Inclusion of forward-collision alert.
- Front pedestrian braking.
- Lane-Keep Assist and lane departure warning.
- Upgraded IntelliBeam headlights.
You can also upgrade to include the Driver Alert Package in your vehicle. This will include things like lane change alert technology, adaptive cruise control, safety alert seat, and side blind zone alert. The Denali is going to see even more updates across its trim levels. Heated rear seats, ventilated seats, and reduced noise in the cabin are all changes that will be made.
Truck Changes
A number of the GMC truck models that will be offered as part of the 2020 lineup will include things like an updated 3.0 liter Duramax, turbo-diesel engine. A carbon-fiber bed in the AT4 and Denali and a 10-speed automatic transmission will also be included. There will be technology features included, such as:
- ProGrade trailering technology.
- Fifteen camera angles.
- Adaptive cruise control.
- A rearview camera.
- 15-inch heads-up display
The Sierra Heavy Duty will be a new addition this model year. Production started this past summer, which was a little earlier than planned. You get better towing capability with this vehicle that includes 35,500 pounds on the 3500 cab. Two-wheel drive and a DRW diesel model are also available. You can even use your 15-camera angles to maneuver your vehicle better when towing something behind your vehicle. This provides a safer experience overall.
