When it comes to offering high-end safety gear and outstanding craftsmanship, the 2017 Buick Envision covers all bases. For the second year in a row, the AWD compact SUV earned a five-star overall vehicle score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
“Earning top ratings from some of the industry’s most important safety organizations validates not only the excellence of the Envision, but further builds the Buick brand’s reputation as a leader in safety and quality, two attributes high on every shopper’s list,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick Sales, Service and Marketing.
All new Envisions come standard with antilock brakes, traction/stability control, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors and various high-quality airbags. The Leather trim is fitted with rear cross-traffic alerts and a blind-zone monitor. The Premium adds lane keeping assist and front parking sensors.
The five-passenger crossover SUV is moved by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 197 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. The engine is standard on Convenience and Leather trims. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. The top-ranging Premium gets a 2.0-liter turbo that ups output to 252 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
